The PuCKS Program began in 2005. By 2007, with its “hockey-as-incentive” approach, many youth in need (and some at risk) were staying in school. Youth with financial need, behavioral challenges or youth who were trying to re-settle to Canada from foreign lands were targetted. The Langley community (Businesses, Education, Government, Health & Non-Profit organizations) rallied together. They embraced and encouraged the PuCKS Program and its kids from all sides. With this support, PuCKS kids became more successful in life: volunteered in the community, shared their successes, set goals and achieved dreams. Five years later, PuCKS has grown and continues to thrive….. like its community… like its kids!
